Wolf-dog seriously injures Washington 4-year-old
The boy was bitten several times
CAMANO ISLAND, Wash. — A young boy was seriously injured Thursday when a wolf-hybrid attacked the child on Camano Island, deputies say.
The Island County Sheriff’s Office reports the 4-year-old was playing with a friend when the attack happened.
The boy was “playing with another child on Lost Forest Lane on Camano Island when he was bitten several times by a 14 month old wolf-hybrid,” the agency posted to Facebook.
The child was reportedly taken to Providence Hospital in Everett with serious injuries to his head, neck, hip, groin, and buttocks.
Animal Control has the animal in its custody.
A wolf-hybrid is a term used to describe an animal that is part wolf and part dog.
Washington law does not prohibit people from keeping wolf-hybrids as pets.
In 2017, a wolf-dog bit off a 3-year-old boy’s hand in Olympia.
