A Pennsylvania woman was recorded capturing live birds Wednesday and placing them in plastic bags, according to The Associated Press.

Spokeswoman for the U.S. Park Service, Gina Gilliam, said a ranger approached the woman and a man after the service received a complaint about the pair capturing birds. In the video posted to Instagram, which has since been removed, the accused can be seen tossing food to a cluster of birds, picking them up and putting them in plastic bags. The woman ties off the bags and the birds are seen flapping around inside.

The woman claimed she released the birds after catching them.

The park ranger who approached the couple told them trapping wildlife in the park is illegal.
