TRI-CITIES, Wash. — A Pasco woman led police on a high-speed chase through the Tri-CIties with a 4-year-old child in the backseat Tuesday night.

Police attempted to pull over Kendra Ponce, 26, around 10:45 p.m. while investigating two separate shootings that night.

They said they had reason to believe a person of interest in one of the shootings, which took place on West Ruby Street, was in the car. The shooting left a 28-year-old man in critical condition.

Ponce allegedly took off on Court Street near Fourth Avenue, headed south on Highway 395 over the Blue Bridge to Kennewick, continued west on State Route 240 to Richland, then back to Pasco on the I-182 bridge.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of eluding, malicious mischief and reckless endangerment.

Her passenger, 33-year-old Santiago Ayala Pineda, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
