ELLENSBURG, Wash. — A World War II veteran from Ellensburg celebrated his 92nd birthday on Veterans Day this year.
A crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to a veteran named “Jim” at a luncheon following Ellensburg’s annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday, according to Trooper John Bryant.
A great #VeteransDay parade in @Ellensburg_WA I was honored to march with fellow vets. Great performances at lunch by the EHS choir and “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes. Happy Birthday to 92 year old WW2 vet Jim of Ellensburg. pic.twitter.com/poHXg7KEy2

The parade happens downtown every year on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. to honor local veterans in the community.
Dozens of people from all over Kittitas County come each year to pay their respects to those who’ve served in the armed forces.
The parade included veterans and active-duty service members, cub scouts and boy scouts and ROTC members and military vehicles.
Attendees were invited to a luncheon at the fire department where they wished Jim a happy birthday and heard a rendition of “Amazing Grace” on bag pipes and music from the Ellensburg High School choir.
