Burned bodies found near hop field belong to Yakima Valley man and woman
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – Two burned bodies that were discovered in a rural area east of Moxee on Tuesday have been identified as a man and woman from the Yakima area, according to Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice.
The names will not be released until family is notified.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, a person stumbled upon the bodies near a hop field on the 5600 block of Desmarais Road off Highway 24 around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The coroner said the bodies were “significantly” burned.
The case is being investigated as a homicide.
An autopsy will be scheduled determine the manner of death. It’s expected to be completed either this weekend or early next week.
