Yakima boys soccer team penalized for hazing
YAKIMA, Wash. — A hazing incident involving boys with the Davis High School varsity soccer team has resulted in disciplinary action.
School officials were unable to release the nature of the hazing, the form of disciplinary action that was taken or the number of people involved.
Authorities with the Yakima and Richland police have been investigating the incident since late March, according to the Yakima Herald-Republic.
The team’s coaches were put on paid administrative once investigation began, but have returned to their teaching positions, according to Yakima School District spokesperson Kirsten Fitterer.
The hazing took place at an away game against Richland Hihgh School on Mar. 11. The team forfeited one game as a result of the allegations.
Investigating is still ongoing as of Monday afternoon.
