Yakima Co. firefighters respond to blazes between Toppenish and Mabton

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – Fire agencies responded to multiple blazes between Toppenish and Mabton on Tuesday evening.

According to Yakima County Fire District #5, a dozer was sent to help extinguish the fires which were contained by about 9 p.m.

Five stations responded to the fire which was located on South Satus Road and Highway 22.

“Impressive fire behavior for this February evening,” wrote Yakima County Fire District #5 staff in a Facebook post.

The fire district is not sure yet how the fires started.

Here is a video of our structure fire from 20:30 hrs last night in the 58000 Block of hwy 97, South of Toppenish. No one was home at the time of the fire. The case has been turned over to Yakama Nation Police Department.
