Yakima Fire Department respond to 3 fires, determined suspicious and related

YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Fire Department responding to three suspicious fires early Wednesday morning.

Fire crews first responded to a dumpster fire at the block of Walnut and 7th Street and discovered a large fire coming from the exterior of a nearby building and the camper that was sitting outside the building.

Fire crews then called for a full structure response triggering the help of 5 engines and the Battalion Chief.

Fire crews responded to another dumpster fire in the ally of the 100 block of South 6th Street. Civilians helped contain the fire before fire crews could arrive by pulling the dumpster away from a structure and closing the lid on the dumpster.

A third fire was spotted by fire crews while they were battling the South 6th Street fire. Crews responded to that fire at the 100 block of South 7th Street. The third fire was in a dumpster in an alley that was not in close proximity to any structures.

Yakima Police Department have determined the fires to be suspicious and related incidents.
