Yakima Humane Society Joins Macy’s Charity Challenge
YAKIMA, Wash. — This is the first year that the Yakima Humane Society will be partnering up with Macy’s Shop For A Cause Charity Challenge.
The goal of the Humane Society is to raise $10,000 dollars. As of today it has raised a total of $3,165. All of the proceeds will be going to support the medical care of homeless pets.
Annie Flores from the Yakima Humane Society says that as of today there are over 100 animals in the shelter.
Every year, the Yakima Humane Society rescues about 5,000 to 7,000 pets. In the month of June they rescued over 500 animals spending more than $24,000 on veterinary care.
