Yakima teacher on leave after video shows her writing the N-word
The East Valley School District has confirmed that one teacher is on administrative leave after a video went viral of her writing a racial slur on the white board in class.
District officials said they were notified of the video on Saturday evening and launched investigation Monday morning.
The teacher has been on leave since Monday, and while they investigate what the context was of her writing the “n-word” on the white board.
School district Communications Director Brittany Kaple said she couldn’t comment on the context of the video since she said she hasn’t seen it and the investigation is still ongoing.
“The district doesn’t condone the use of that inappropriate language under any context in any class in a building in our district,” said Kaple.
She said they’ll release more information on the investigation in the coming days.
