Yakima Teen Arrested for Making Threatening Phone Calls

A 16-year-old Yakima boy has been arrested for making threatening phone calls to Yakima businesses.

Yakima Police arrested the boy after a trap was set up from one of the victims phones which allowed Yakima Police to obtain a search warrant of the phone based on the trap.

The boy confessed to calling 16 local businesses and making threatening phone calls, some of which included strong sexual language.

The boy told investigators that he learned of this prank by watching YouTube videos. His plane was to post the threats on Facebook and see how many “likes” he would get.

11 of the businesses which received threatening phone calls actually contacted Yakima Police.

The boy faces 11 counts of phone harassment in Yakima County Juvenile Court.
