‘You can’t not have a good time:’ Bougie Brunch opens its doors in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. — If you step inside Kennewick’s newest brunch spot, you’ll automatically feel like you’ve been transported out of the Tri-Cities.
The walls are covered with pink and white flowers. Table covers and glassware are vibrantly colored. Flashing lights cover the ceiling. The patio features a branded cornhole set. Neon pink fluorescent signs are pinned up, reading, “it’s a vibe” and “this must be the place.”
Aptly named “Bougie Brunch,” the “vibe” is the restaurant’s main aesthetic, based on owners Lore’K and Chris Garofola’s travels to Palm Springs, California.
“Palm Springs is very brunch life,” Lore’K said. “We traveled and I wanted to bring something back to Washington. Especially Tri-Cities, we don’t have an exact brunch place… just brunch — breakfast and lunch.”
The Kennewick restaurant just opened this week after being in the works for about three months. The Garofolas said it felt like “a whirlwind.”
“I can’t believe Bougie Brunch is actually for real,” Lore’K said. “I thought of it, wrote it on paper, brought it to life, brought it to my husband, and we said, ‘let’s do this.'”
The goal? To make it the trendiest hotspot for the community.
Besides typical brunch fare, Bougie Brunch also features a bacon flight, an avocado toast flight, and a champagne parade which is similar to bottle service you might find at a club.
“You’re going to wake up when you walk in here,” Lore’K said. “As soon as you come here, you can’t not have a good time.”
For those wondering about how the restaurant got its name?
“Bougie means you’re fancy or you think you’re fancy. So we decided for sure when you come to Bougie Brunch, you’re gonna have a little bit of a high-end experience,” Lore’K said. “We’re going to tear you like you’re fancy, no matter what.”
Currently, they are only serving a limited menu but by the time of their grand opening at the end of July, Lore’K said they should have a full list of delicious items.
If you want to check it out, the restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and it is located at 3320 W. Kennewick Ave.
